Thought of the day

The six inner enemies: desire, anger, greed, attachment, pride and envy can be uprooted only by the teachings of good men, the love of God, knowledge of the Lord and the company of the holy ones. The heart of the person who does not strive to cultivate his mind with holy thoughts is certain to be paradise of evil and wickedness. This has to be borne in mind by all those aspire for salvation and who hope to rise to greatness.

Thought of the day

Self-discipline is the basic foundation for successful living. Through that alone can man attain eternal peace. And without peace, there can be no happiness. Shanti (peace) is of the very nature of Atma, it can co-exist only with purity of heart. It is never associated with a greedy heart full of desires.

OH MY GOD !!

All of us have asked God for help at various moments in our lives. What if God actually tried to help and we were oblivious to his presence? Vinay Pathak stars as Rajendra, a simple salesman with big dreams, a hard core Dhiru Bhai Ambani fan, who wants to make it big in life but through ethical ways. Suman (Divya Dutta) is Rajendra's patient and loving wife, who stands by her husband at all times. As Rajendra continues to fail in his various money-making schemes, Suman pleads with God to help her husband. What follows is a series of hilarious encounters where God (played in human form by Saurabh Shukla) tries to help Rajendra become successful but is constantly frustrated as Rajendra fails to recognise the opportunities.

"Red Cliff" is the most expensive Asian-financed film to date. The movie is based on historical records of "The Chronicles of the Three Kingdom" rather than the novel, "Romance of the Three Kingdom". In the early third century, the land of Wu is invaded by the warlord Cao Cao and his soldiers. The ruler of Wu, Sun Quan (Chang Chen), calls on the rival warlord Liu Bei (You Yong) for help, but their two armies are still badly outnumbered. However, the strategists Zhou Yu (Tony Leung) and Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) see that Cao Cao's army is unused to battling on the sea. With 200,000 men, Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang defeat Cao Cao's army at the Yangtze River.

The American President - Starring: Michael Douglas, Annette Bening

"The American President," starring Michael Douglas, Annette Benning, Martin Sheen, and Michael J. Fox has a good premise, and carries strong through the first half, but eventually deteriorates into your average, run-of-the-mill, predictable romantic drama/comedy.The strong performances by both lead actors an co-stars makes "The American President" a definite must-see. Just don't expect anything too great.

Dehli 6 - OUTSTANDING SOUNDTRACK BY A R RAHMAN

The soundtrack of this movie will be simultaniously released at our stores on the 20th of February 2009

Delhi 6 is almost perfect. If one thought that Slumdog Millionaire, Ghajini and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa were superb then just listen to Delhi 6 once. Rahman beats his own score with Delhi 6 which would easily go down as one of his best scores till date. Simply said, even though the year has just begun with some exemplary soundtracks like Dev D, Slumdog Millionaire and Luck By Chance already making a very good impression, Delhi 6 would qualify as a comfortable nomination amongst the Top albums of the year.

Changeling

2008 will undoubtedly be a memorable year for Hollywoods power couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Pitt had the magnificent "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" which gained him a 2009 Best Actor Nomination and "Changeling" won Angelina a 2009 Best Actress Nomination. There were both given due to high levels of acting justification displayed by both sides, but most intensely on the side of Jolie.

'Changeling' is the story of a single mother whose son is kidnapped by a ruthless child predator, and her fight to see his return despite the LAPD's attempts to deem her insane when she denies the young boy they push upon her is hers.
The movie is long I should warn. Almost 3 hours if not, but once you invest your time into it, you won't notice as I didn't. The ending was a bit surprising to me, but I was thankful that it wasn't predicatable or conventional, and just as thankful that I didn't do any research on the actual events. I thought the cinematography was awesome, and this was by far some of the best acting I've seen from Angelina Jolie since 'A Mighty Heart.' Clint Eastwood once again delivers and shows that there is nothing that he can't do. If you're into period films, as well as mystery and suspense, then I totally recommend this film.

Nights in Rodanthe - coming soon on VCD & DVD

This is a real tear-jerker. The acting is fantastic and the emotions seem very real. The story line is well-considered, but it is definitely not the typical love story. The best way to describe this film is that it just feels real. You could imagine the characters being pulled off the screen and placed in the "real world" without any problem. I would definitely recommend Nights in Rodanthe to those who like a good love story with plenty of drama.

Thought of the day - 14th February 2009

A home where the members of the family are leading their lives in keeping with noble ideals, where they together sing the glory of the Lord's name and spend their time in performing good deeds, where the values of truth, peace and love reign supreme, where regular study of holy books are undertaken, where the senses are under control, and where there is equal love and respect for all creation prompted by the knowledge of the basic unity of all creation - such a home is verily heaven on earth.
