BOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTERS COMING TO OUR CINEMAS SOON.

With no major release in the pipeline for the next few weeks, the scenario looks grim, very grim in fact. But let's not get hassled, for the best is reserved for the next seven months. Read on...

A lot of people aren't aware that as many as 45 big-budget films are ready to hit the screens from June onwards. From Akshay, SRK, Aamir, Hrithik to Shahid, Salman, Abhishek, John, Ajay Devgan, everyone's going to have multiple films in the next seven months..

  • Akshay has four releases happening this year, starting with KAMBAKKHT ISHQ, followed by BLUE, DE DHANA DHAN and ACTION REPLAY...

  • SRK will have MY NAME IS KHAN and also a film where he makes a special appearance, DULHA MIL GAYA...

  • Aamir will have two releases this year, 3 IDIOTS and wife Kiran Rao's directorial debut DHOBI GHAAT...

  • Hrithik will arrive with home-production KITES...

  • Salman has four films lined up back to back - WANTED, MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA, LONDON DREAMS and VEER [the film is being shot non-stop]...

  • Saif has LOVE AAJ KAL [his production debut] and if all goes well, JIHAAD...

  • Shahid too will have multiple films, starting with KAMINAY, Yash Raj's next [called HADIPPA?], Ken Ghosh's film [yet untitled] and PAATHSHAALA. Hopefully, the much-delayed MILENGE MILENGE might also release this year...

  • Ranbir will have two releases - AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI and WAKE UP SID, while RAJNITI will arrive early next year...

  • Imran too will have two releases, LUCK and DELHI BELLY...

  • Ajay, like Akshay, will have four films, LONDON DREAMS, TOONPUR KA SUPERHERO, ALL THE BEST [home-production] and hopefully, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI...

  • Bachchan Sr. too is super-busy with ALADIN, RANN, PA, TEEN PATTI and SHOEBITE, all releasing this year...

  • Bachchan Jr. has RAAVAN and PA [he's overseeing the production for the first time]...

  • John Abraham has NEW YORK, HOOK YA CROOK, Abbas Tyrewala's film and Deven Khote's FILMCITY [to be shot in Mumbai]. Hopefully, Nagesh Kukunoor's AASHAYEIN might also make it in the coming months...

  • Sanjay Dutt will devote time to politics and have multiple releases simultaneously, BLUE, LUCK, ALADIN, LAMHAA, CHATUR SINGH 2 STAR and ALL THE BEST.

Expect at least 5/6/7 films releasing every week, starting June onwards [once the strike is called off!].

lucky by chance - check it out

This is a movie about one aspiring actors path through to the Bollywood bigtime. It is beautiful cinematography and should be appealing to both arthouse fans and those who like lighter Bollywood movies. There are a few Bollywood song and dance sequences but all in the context of scenes being filmed for movies. One of these has Hrithik Roshan strutting his stuff. I did know Hrithik had an extended cameo (which he does very well). What I didn't know was how many other actors walk through this movie (and often have a few lines to say)as themselves including Shahrukh Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor, Abhashek Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee, Vivek Oberoi, John Abraham and others. So it becomes a bit spot the famous actors, producers and directors. It is just done so well. Farhan in the lead plays in an understated way but is very good. Konkona Sensharma as an actress friend also trying to make it, is also very good. They have strong support from innumerable well known Bollywood actors and actresses. I hope this isn't a sign of the times. If the movie hadn't been so good we could well have abandoned it early because of the subtitles. Some of the theories about the Indian reaction were that it was too real and that Hrithik fans expected to see more of him than a cameo after his dance sequence was used to promote it. Anyway for me it's a keeper and one to rewatch.

JOY RIDE WITH " KAMBAKKHT ISHK" SOON AT TGV CAPSQUARE

Kambakkht Ishq explores the relationship between two individuals as different from each other as chalk and cheese. No matter how many times they are pushed together, there are only fireworks... no fire. Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) is a swashbuckling stuntman in Hollywood who lives by the mantra ''women are only good for two things... making love & making love'' Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) is a firebrand who is more than able to stare down the most arrogant male with her caustic wit and sardonic tongue... he firm belief ''there's no such thing as love''. So what happens when the two people who hate each other the most meet at Simrita's best friend Kamini's and Viraj's brother Lucky's wedding? ...a wedding that both Viraj and Simrita are violently opposed to and desperate to stop. Sparks fly, accidents occur, And both are thrown together in the most absurd, hilarious situation until one dramatic twist of fate binds the two together in a manner that they could have never ever even dreamed of in their wildest fantasies. The battle of the sexes in on. Who is going to throw the punches and who is going to blow the kisses?
