Just back home after watching CC2C... My verdict??... read on...From the hustle-bustle of Chandni Chowk to the hutongs of Beijing, the electric energy of Shanghai and sheer breathtaking Chinese landscapes, Chandni Chowk To China chronicles the lunatic adventures of a hapless simpleton cook from Delhi. As he goes to seek his destiny, he finds himself thrown into a crazy world of megalomaniac villains, female fatales, crazy inventors, Chinese mysticism and outlandish kung-fu assassins!
With a synopsis like this, one really expects a fantastic film. The trailers were super...but alas it was quite a @@@###@#@# of a movie running for almost 2 hours and 45 minutes .
What went wrong, when actually it was supposed to be an action cum comedy film?? My view is that the timing of the release of the movie was not justified. Just when Ghajini is making waves across the Globe, Rab ne.. with Shah Rukh Khan still in Cinemas, Dostana being a super comedy, Slumdog Millionaire, being highly acclaimed with awards. CC2C is not so funny neither emotional ..probably had it been released earlier(DIWALI 2008) it could have made some difference.
Akshay Kumar, After digesting his antics in Welcome and Singh is Kinng, the audiences are already overfed. And he goes about doing the same in ‘Chandni Chowk To China’. He does make you laugh at times, but the humour doesn’t have the explosive effect that you expect from Akki.
Final Verdict:- I would be rather playing Pool on line...
