Thought for the Day - Shivaratri

When you realise Shivoham (I am Shiva), then, you have all the happiness, all the auspiciousness that there is. Shiva is not to be sought on the peak of a distant range of mountains, or in some other special place. You must have heard that sin and merit are inherent in the acts that men do; so too, Shiva is inherent in every thought, word and deed, for He is the energy, the power, the intelligence that is behind each of them.

MY NAME IS KHAN - REVIEW ....

DOES IT NOT BOTHER YOU, IF YOU ARE STOPPED AND HARASSED BY SECURITY EVEN THOUGH YOU DID NO WRONG? DOES IT NOT BOTHER YOU WHEN PEOPLE AROUND YOU LOOK AT YOU WITH AN EYE OF SUSPICION ? FIRST IT WAS BC / THEN CAME AD AND NOW A NEW DIVISION 9/11..

DHARMA PRODUCTION & RED CHILLIES PRESENTS A MOVIE MADE FOR ALL VIEWERS, WITH A MESSAGE, NOT 1, BUT MANY IN VARIOUS FORMS..

EVERYDAY WE GET TO READ AND HEAR OF SOME SORT OF ACT OF TERRORISM, AND MANY MOVIES HAVE BEEN MADE ON THE SUBJECT, SUCH AS - NEW YORK , KURBAAN , A WEDNESDAY, JUST TO NAME A FEW....

MY NAME IS KHAN IS A MOVIE THAT DEALS WITH A STRONG MESSAGE ,ITS NONE LIKE THE MOVIES MENTIONED ABOVE,ITS ABOUT - THAT A NAME OR A RELIGION DOES NOT DETERMINE THAT A PERSON IS A TERRORIST. RIZWAN KHAN IS ABOUT TO GO ON A JOURNEY TO MEET THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES....TO TELL HIM " MY NAME IS KHAN, AND I AM NOT A TERRORIST, AND HOWDY FROM OFFICER MARSHALL..

HAVING A MEDICAL CONDITION KNOWN AS ASPERGER SYNDROME, KHAN HAS SKILLS TO REPAIR ALMOST ANYTHING, BUT FAILS TO UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE SAY " MAKE THIS AS YOUR OWN HOME" WHEN IT IS NOT HIS... BRIGHT YELLOW COLORS AND LOUD SOUNDS IRRITATES HIM, BUT HE CAN BE PUNCTUAL FOR WHAT HE DESIRES, WHENEVER HE WANTS..

HATS OF TO KARAN JOHAR, WHO BRINGS THIS DRAMA, LARGER THAN LIFE WITH THE TALENTED KHAN & KAJOL, WHICH IS A JOY TO WATCH. THEIR ON SCREEN CHEMISTRY IS BEST EVER, EVEN AFTER SO MANY YEARS..

I WONT REVEAL MORE OF THE MOVIE, AS ITS BETTER FOR ALL TO WATCH IT ON THE BIG SCREEN..
HOWEVER SOME PARTS OF THE MOVIE CAN REALLY MAKE YOU SO EMOTIONAL, AND YOU CANT HELP BUT SHEDD TEARS... AND EVEN CRY...

MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS KARAN JOHAR MOVIE HAS NO CANDY FLOSS NOR GARAM MASALA. iT HAS NO VIOLENCE AND VILLAINS. ITS THE HAALATH (THE CIRCUMSTANCES / SITUATIONS ) THAT SURFACE MANKIND, AND HOW ONE IS ABLE TO ACHIEVE AND OVERCOME THE OBSTACLES..

WE SHALL OVERCOME .. HUM HONGE KAMYAAB, HUM HONGE KAAMYAB...

LAST WORD - BE GOOD DO GOOD AND ALWAYS LOVE, BECAUSE LOVE CAN ... AND HATE OTHERWISE CANNOT...
KARAN YOU ARE TOO GOOD, YOU HAVE COME TO REALITY CINEMA, HATS OFF TO ALL THE CAST OF MY NAME IS KHAN...

RATINGS? YOU TELL ME SIR....

Thought for the Day - 11th February 2010

If you try to bring back to your memory at bedtime, the events of the day, everything that happened, you will recall only those events, which are meaningful, those that are deeply embedded within you. The rest of the insignificant events turn hazy, recede and disappear from memory. Be comforted with the firm faith that the suffering and travails of this world are illusory and transitory. Fix your mind firmly on this great fact and set out bravely on the path of Sadhana (spiritual practice), on a continuous journey of devotion to the Lord.- Baba

'Kaminey' surpasses '3 Idiots' in 55th Filmfare nominations

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) Even though Aamir Khan's comedy-drama '3 Idiots' was the biggest hit of 2009, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's crime caper 'Kaminey' has surpassed it in bagging the maximum nominations for the 55th Idea Filmfare Awards.

'3 Idiots,' starring Aamir, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor, was highly appreciated by viewers and critics alike but it managed to get only seven nominations in comparison to the nine nominations bagged by 'Kaminey' and eight by Saif Ali Khan's debut production venture 'Love Aaj Kal'.

'Kaminey,' starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, and '3 Idiots' have been nominated in categories like best film, best director, best actor and best actress, among others.

''3 Idiots' has not bagged nominations in the best music and best lyrics categories in which 'Kaminey' has been nominated.

'Love Aaj Kal' was directed by Imtiaz Ali and starred Saif along with Deepika Padukone in the lead.

Law Abiding Citizen (2009) - soon on DVD

Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system, or key players in the trial will die. Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. Only Nick can stop the killing and finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who seems always to be one step ahead.
