"Red Cliff" is the most expensive Asian-financed film to date. The movie is based on historical records of "The Chronicles of the Three Kingdom" rather than the novel, "Romance of the Three Kingdom". In the early third century, the land of Wu is invaded by the warlord Cao Cao and his soldiers. The ruler of Wu, Sun Quan (Chang Chen), calls on the rival warlord Liu Bei (You Yong) for help, but their two armies are still badly outnumbered. However, the strategists Zhou Yu (Tony Leung) and Zhuge Liang (Takeshi Kaneshiro) see that Cao Cao's army is unused to battling on the sea. With 200,000 men, Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang defeat Cao Cao's army at the Yangtze River.

The American President - Starring: Michael Douglas, Annette Bening

"The American President," starring Michael Douglas, Annette Benning, Martin Sheen, and Michael J. Fox has a good premise, and carries strong through the first half, but eventually deteriorates into your average, run-of-the-mill, predictable romantic drama/comedy.The strong performances by both lead actors an co-stars makes "The American President" a definite must-see. Just don't expect anything too great.

Dehli 6 - OUTSTANDING SOUNDTRACK BY A R RAHMAN

Delhi 6 is almost perfect. If one thought that Slumdog Millionaire, Ghajini and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Naa were superb then just listen to Delhi 6 once. Rahman beats his own score with Delhi 6 which would easily go down as one of his best scores till date. Simply said, even though the year has just begun with some exemplary soundtracks like Dev D, Slumdog Millionaire and Luck By Chance already making a very good impression, Delhi 6 would qualify as a comfortable nomination amongst the Top albums of the year.

Changeling

2008 will undoubtedly be a memorable year for Hollywoods power couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Pitt had the magnificent "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" which gained him a 2009 Best Actor Nomination and "Changeling" won Angelina a 2009 Best Actress Nomination. There were both given due to high levels of acting justification displayed by both sides, but most intensely on the side of Jolie.

'Changeling' is the story of a single mother whose son is kidnapped by a ruthless child predator, and her fight to see his return despite the LAPD's attempts to deem her insane when she denies the young boy they push upon her is hers.
The movie is long I should warn. Almost 3 hours if not, but once you invest your time into it, you won't notice as I didn't. The ending was a bit surprising to me, but I was thankful that it wasn't predicatable or conventional, and just as thankful that I didn't do any research on the actual events. I thought the cinematography was awesome, and this was by far some of the best acting I've seen from Angelina Jolie since 'A Mighty Heart.' Clint Eastwood once again delivers and shows that there is nothing that he can't do. If you're into period films, as well as mystery and suspense, then I totally recommend this film.

Nights in Rodanthe - coming soon on VCD & DVD

This is a real tear-jerker. The acting is fantastic and the emotions seem very real. The story line is well-considered, but it is definitely not the typical love story. The best way to describe this film is that it just feels real. You could imagine the characters being pulled off the screen and placed in the "real world" without any problem. I would definitely recommend Nights in Rodanthe to those who like a good love story with plenty of drama.

BILLU BARBER new release

Billu Barber is a story of a simple ordinary man who led an extra ordinary life. Bilas Rao Pardesi (Irrfan Khan) was living in his village with his wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta) and two great kids. Life was bitter sweet... we can say more sweet than bitter.One day a superstar Sahir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) came into their lives and everything changed. Life changed, people changed, friends changed, the village changed but one man did not... Billu Barber. Will this ordinary man redefine the words ordinary? The story actually takes its inspiration from the legendary friendship between Lord Krishna and Sudama. In this case, the story talks of the friendship between a superstar and an ordinary mortal who runs a salon.

BILLU is a sweet-n-simple film that lingers in your memory even after the show has concluded. The final 20 minutes are the highpoint of the enterprise and that elevates the status of the film to great heights. The film has the potential to grow with a strong word of mouth.
